Chardonnay

Oaked Chardonnays are rich, full-bodied and have additional flavors of vanilla, butter and even caramel form oak. A cool climate, buttery Chardonnay will have more citrus flavors versus a warm climate Chardonnay, which will have more tropical flavors.

Pinot Grigio

The primary fruit flavors in Pinot Grigio are lime, lemon, pear, white nectarine and apple. Depending on where the grapes are grown, Pinot Grigio can take on a faint honeyed note; floral aromas like honeysuckle; and a saline-like minerality.

Prosecco

This sparkling wine has fine bubbles winding through its bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Its aroma will remind you of peaches and sweet flowers, and its flavor includes fruity hints of pineapples and Rennet apples.

Sauvignon Blanc

The primary fruit flavors of Sauvignon Blanc are lime, green apple, passion fruit and white peach. Depending on how ripe the grapes are when the wine is made, the flavors will range from zesty lime to flowery peach. What makes Sauvignon Blanc unique from other wines are its other herbaceous flavors like bell pepper, jalapeno, gooseberry and grass. These flavors come from aromatic compounds called pyrazines and are the secret to Sauvignon Blanc’s taste.

Gavi di Gavi

Gavi is a famous white wine DOCG zone Piedmont, Italy. The 1200-hectare vineyard area surrounds the city of Gavi itself. Cortese, Piedmont’s finest white grape is at the heart of Gavi di Gavi and is distinguished by its crisp, floral, peachy, aromatic qualities. The wines are best enjoyed young.

Moscato d'Asti

Moscato has an intense aromatic component that harmonizes with its sweetness. Moscato also has a low alcohol content. These are the qualities that make it unique. In terms of production, it differs in the fermentation process, which is halted when the alcohol content reaches about 5% by volume.

Falanghina Beneventana

This favorite white wine is dry, with high acidity and flavors that include floral, herbal and tropical fruit notes.

La Storia Del Vino Rosso

Amarone

Expect bold aromas of cherry liqueur, black fig, carob, cinnamon and plum sauce along with subtle notes of green peppercorn, chocolate and crushed gravel dust. Sounds Intriguing? On the palate Amarone wines often have a medium to high acidity balanced with high alcohol and flavors of black cherry, brown sugar, and chocolate. By the way the older the wine, the more it will offer flavors of brown sugar, molasses and figs. What might surprise you about this wine is the presence of a touch of natural residual sugar (RS) in the wine.

Barolo

Tasting Notes: Rose petal, cherry and raspberry sauce, cinnamon,
white pepper and with age, licorice, leather, and chocolate. Barolo is one of those wines that surprises you when you taste it. For as pale and floral as it looks and smells, it is a punch on the tongue with its astringent tannin and high acidity.

Gattinara Gattinara

Gattinara is a gorgeous garnet color with brick orange edges. Aromas are intense ad very attractive, with cherry and violets leading the way, followed by secondary aromas of fennel seed, musk, barnyard and earth at various times. A real shape-shifter as you move from the first to the second glass the flavors evolve. Tannins have integrated into the wine nicely at a later age.

Brunello

Young Brunello Wines are packed with fruit and flower flavors including cherries, dried cranberries, wild strawberries, blackberries, violets, potpourri and licorice. Brunello di Montalcino exudes earthy notes of espresso and tilled soil along with mouth —dripping tannins. It is a bold wine but because of the high acidity it ends on a tart, astringent note that will have you licking the insides of your mouth. This astringency is why most reviews suggest a drink-by window several years after its release date.

Old Brunello

Now that the wine has aged and been softened by time, our Brunello is more ravishing than ever. With 10 plus years of age, Brunello di Montalcino drops the fresh fruit flavors to reveal sweeter notes of dried figs, candied cherries, hazelnuts and sun baked leather. The tannins turn chocolaty and the acidity is succulent. Aged Brunello is an amazing bold perfect wine.

Taurasi

The color of Taurasi is a deep ruby red bouquet. The wine has an intense bouquet of wild cherries, raspberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and anise. The taste is full bodied and well balanced with flavors of plum, black cherries and licorice.

Super Tuscan

This term refers to high quality Tuscan wines that fall outside of DOC regulations. Many are labeled IGT ( Indicazione Geografica Tipica). There are many reasons why a wine might not fit into the regulations of the area in which it is grown. By operating outside of these regional standards, winemakers are free to experiment with nontraditional grape varieties, to employ more modern fermentation techniques and so on. Super Tuscans may be 100% Sangiovese or they can be blends of other varieties- indigenous or international. These bottles are great candidates for cellaring as they are often heavily oaked. Many of the great ones need to breath in a decanter for a few hours before being enjoyed.
